Testimonials
Hello Everyone, I wanted to share some information with you that I have found to be a tremendous help to me. Since I left GT, I have had some time to think financial needs for my family. As a CPA that followed the market, I thought myself somewhat savvy, but I realized there was still a good bit of things I needed help with. Additionally, I was not 100% satisfied with my investment adviser who happened to be a friend of mine in Atlanta. After asking around, David Fain, a financial representative with the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, was recommended to me. We spoke on the phone and met for an hour over coffee at Starbucks, which was enough to convince me to work with David to fine tune my situation. He is drafting a long term analysis and referred me to an investment specialist that I believe is superior to my current advisor. The reason I am sharing this with you guys is that I believe David is a person who genuinely cares about people. He is not the stereotypical, slick salesman who is out to sell something. I will not work with anyone like that in any field. If he cannot help you, he will be the first to tell you. This "no BS" approach is so rare. Moreover, he is an MBA, has a degree from Wharton, and is a third generation business representative so he has a solid financial background. Let me finish by saying that there is nothing in this for me, and David's services are offered at no charge. His business model is about establishing long term relationships. While you may not currently be in the market for any of the assistance David has to offer, he may be a good resource for you down the road. As our individual circumstances change, it will be far better to have someone in mind that can, at the very least, point us in the right direction. Jeffrey
A few specifics about David and what he does. Obviously, as a financial professional, David wears many "hats." In terms of what he typically does for individuals there are several "core" services he offers: Budget Formulation: Sounds easy, however, I don't know about you, but I am notoriously bad when it comes to diligently managing my finances/expenses. David takes a very intuitive approach to helping us get a firm handle on what we take in and what we spend every month in an effort to expose areas where we can potentially squeeze additional disposable income that can facilitate long-term saving. It's amazing to me how such an effort can deliver some much-needed peace of mind. Investment/Savings: He works with you to determine what type of investments best align with your long-term goals, and how those goals codify into a rational savings program. Long-Term Goal Facilitation: David honestly thinks hard about how he can help us achieve the type of lifestyles we aspire to and for most of us, myself included, that lifestyle tends to be fairly grandiose. For people like us, who are just starting out, don't have a ton of disposable income, and can't tolerate hefty budget shocks, preparing for the future is simply tough. For me personally, I want to own a home in New England within the next several years. Through working with David, I have begun a program that should allow me to realize that goal without a serious disruption to the standard of living I currently enjoy. Until meeting with David, I honestly did not know how I could optimally accommodate this goal, given my current financial situation. In closing, I also would like to issue one more testimonial on David's behalf and that is that I would never petition friends on anyone's behalf if I weren't 100% convinced of their integrity and what they had to offer. On these and many other dimensions, David unquestionably exceeds the bar and it's important to me that I state that explicitly. Scott
